Creating Route Markers Without RW Tools or Excel?

Unread postby CanadianShortliner » Thu Dec 08, 2011 3:33 pm

Does anyone know of a way to create series markers without using RW Tools or Excel? The reason I ask is because I've used up all my trials for RW Tools trying to get it to work properly on my computer and can't donate because I have to rely on my parents for online transactions and they don't trust the site. The only non RW tutorial I found requires Excel, which I also used up the trial verision of on a school project a while ago. So, are there any other ways to create them or am I out of luck?

Do a google search for open source excel, and take a look at what is available for free.

I forgot to mention, I also tried Open Office and Gnumeric, but couldn't get them to open the file the same way as shown in the RSC tutorial. The only way to do that was to manually copy every coordinate, but even after doing that and saving as a CSV file, the blueprint editor wasn't recognizing it. Could I be doing something wrong?

Just asking the question to make sure, but have you downloaded the RS Developer Documents (http://www.railsimdownloads.com/files/r ... evDocs.exe) and studied file 1.03 Route Marker Creation?

The one I was reading was in the wiki, but it's the exact same. I just noticed though that it says to open the file as a "read only workbook", but I can't seem to find anything like this is open office.

Do you mean send me a license? Isn't that technically piracy since it's payware, or am I misunderstanding what you're saying?
