I am pretty familiar with laying gradients now, but in some areas the transition is a little to squared of an angle at the track joint, any tips

Hi,
to smooth out a gradient transition is pretty easy, all you need is:
1) place gradient gizmo on the tracks at the point of the gradient change
2) place two more gradient gizmos some ways up and down the tracks (a few dozen yards maybe, more if the gradient changes a lot)
3) select and delete the gizmo in the middle (at the gradient change) - you'll end up with two gradient changes at the two outer gizmos now, each one being half of the original gradient change.
So, if you went from 1% to 0% you'd now be gonig 1% - 0.5% - 0%
If you repeat the steps above for the two remaining gradient gizmos you can keep on smoothing the gradient change.
For a 1% change in gradient I usually do the avove steps three times over a length of maybe 50-100 meters, this gives you a pretty smooth transition that is hardly noticable in terms of cab swaying and jolting.
Cheers,
Michael

Do you mean the gradient "arrows"?
I didn't know that you can delete them. How can I do this? Thanks.

Just highlight the gradient point and press delete. There are some gradient points that can't be deleted. Specifically, the gradients points on joined sections of track with a red triangle.

awesome, thanks, ok that helps also you can use the gradient tool to make some really rough looking sidings as well :)
