Is there any easy way to set up signals in RW2? I have looked at the wiki, but I really don't understand it.

I wouldn't say easy but ...
http://www.pikesproducts.com/Forum/index.php?topic=6.0That link should open up to an index of the best tutorials I've seen for setting up signals.

Hi, I'm new to route building in RailWorks 2 and I have been having trouble placing functioning signals on track intersections, especially were a single track crosses two others. I looked through all of the tutorials but none of them involved signaling overlaping track sections. I was wondering if maybe someone might be able to give some advice or perhaps point me in the right direction.
-Thank You

If you are refering to diamond crossings, a x head 1 T singnal should work (x = to 1, 2, or 3 heads). Zink zero hext to the signal and link one on the other side of the diamond. Do in all four directions. Note: signals may be red in all four directions until a path is thru a diamond. Then the aspects should be correct.

Thanks. So it is basically the same as signaling a normal track segment. If I had two tracks overlaping in a diamond crossing (lets call them track one and track two) and I wanted track one to take presidence I would just set up a signal on track one controlling the segment that contains the crossing, then move the signal next to track two, leaving the links to track one intact. Would that control traffic on track two? Or if I placed a signal linked to track two (link 0 next to the signal and link 1 on the other side of the crossing) would it turn red when a train was crossing over track two on track one? I guess the basis of the question is: How do I place a signal on a crossing that will turn red when a train is on the crossing track? Sorry to keep asking all these questions, but I'm just a little fuzzy on the specifics of signaling more complex track structures.
-Thank you

Posting a screen shot of the crossing would help diagnose the issue. And type of signals used. Pike's, SMM Digital or Kuju?

O.k. Here is a screenshot of the double diamond crossing that I'm trying to signal. The signals that I'm using are the type that come with Castle Rock and Barsto-San Bernardino, in the item list they're just called "Tall nH nT" or "Short nH nT" and their full object name refers to them as "railnetwork~signals~us modern~post~us....xml"

I'm trying to link the four signals so that they turn red when a train is going through the crossing on the single track.

I am by no means a signaling expert, but I believe that this may answer your question:
http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 94757b6f84The most important thing I think is to weld the crossing points (once) to create a crossing diamond. Until that is done, RW will never identify that this is a crossing.
Next, 1H1T signals
should work for this. Place the 0 link before the crossing and the 1 link on the other side.
Good luck, this may (or may not) work.

Also, I do believe that the crossing has to be made of straight track sections to be welded. Then it would be recognized.

Straightened out the crossing and welded it and now all works fine. Thank you for helping a hapless newbie.

This reply don't refer to the specific topic, but deals with signals in general. Is there a way to make the actual signal light glow brighter as to be seen and understood at a greater distance? So far signals are nor legible until your practically right on them. Also, does a typical US signal ahead of a "stop" signal relay that the next signal requires a stop...if you know what I mean.

There is a way to brighten them, but I don't know the technique; it's been written about perhaps a year or more ago (???) but I'm not sure which forum. As for warning signals, yes, you should always pass a signal, usually with an APPROACH indication before reaching a STOP signal. In some cases, the preceding
two signals will indicate the slowdown and pending STOP.
