Missing Elevator - Adriana County

Unread postby harryadkins » Thu Nov 21, 2024 11:12 am

There is supposed to be a grain elevator in the town of Scurlock on the Ariana County route. However, it is not there, just bare land. I assume the elevator is from the Marias Pass route, but the buildings do not show up as missing on TS-Tools. Does anyone else have this issue? Has anyone fixed this?

It is MP Cutbank Silo 1. It's showing up here. If you need anything let me know.

It’s there in the route. If my memory is correct, go into Edit mode as if you were adding or changing an asset and let the cursor browse the zone and at some point, bingo, it appear at its location. Keep the cursor on the silo as it should be purplish in appearance. At that instant, the dialogue box at the right will show up and the display parameter might be set around 1 or 2. Set it at 10 and save. The silo should be in full display.

Hope that helps !!howdy!! Bernard

Bernard,
I think you might be missing something in these instructions. The objects are showing up as a kind of brownish color when you hover the mouse pointer on them. When you click on them they turn purple but nothing pops up on the right side of the screen. I tried this both in the world editor and the route editor. What am I doing wrong?

Buzz, you were almost done; your response spiked my curiosity, so I fired-up Adriana and my version was missing the silos ...

Now, the trick : while the cursor in the burgundy zone - Double-click on the zone and the dialogue box should show up and ....
Adriana_silos02.jpg

... Change the value of 3 to 9 or 10 and it will show in the drive mode. Make sure to save, My simulation was in the Itinerary Edit Mode and I have not tried the inverse while editing a scenario, thus temporarily delete an asset.

Good luck, Bernard

Buzz, you would be surprised of how many assets are hidden on numerous routes. I’ve spent endless hours hovering landscapes, as voltures, to find hidden treasures - most having a 2 or 3 for display parameters. Something tells me there might be a glitch in the route editor, but I am not in the secrets of the gods …

Happy hunting, Bernard

Turning the "Scenery Density" setting all the way up (under Graphics -> Advanced in the Settings menu) should make everything appear. Most non-DTG routes aren't really set up to take advantage of the setting, so key items will be missing in some places on third-party routes if it's not maxed out.

Interesting because that's where my settings are at and when Harry asked me about it it showed up here on my rig. On another route that I'm working on with John I had a palm tree that kept disappearing on me that using Bernard's method fixed the issue.
Edit: I had it one click below all the way up. Now all of my missing palms show up.

Perhaps it was in Winter and they moved South South for the season - seriously I've had the same problem and it is a weakness of the system you can place 10 of the same object and some will show and the others not. Checking the settings and some are as low as 1 others at 9 - it should be thta you can set the setting for an item once for all but you can't. I now double check the seting of every object I place - it's time consuming but much less frustrating at least once set it remains set.

Since the problem of having a value set at a low level and not appearing, may I suggest that it would be an excellent add on to TS Tool (Mike Simpson). I’m not a programmer, but this new fonction could browse scénario or scenery folder and for each file search the value parameter ( usually an alphanumeric chain ) and automatically replace the existing number to 10. Just a wild idea …

Not a wild idea, a good idea but Mike has retired so who could do it?
