Milepost location

Unread postby frankenthal » Sun Aug 27, 2023 8:14 pm

We've all seen the repeated question of how to guesstimate the location of the milepost, maybe this can help if you want a little accuracy. The milepost is light blue, click the dot and you see a popout. The popout has info for the railroad it's linked to and additional such as trackage rights. This example is the CN milepost 907 at LAT ‎29.970467 LON ‎-90.15955. Then if you hit the arrow for page 2 you see what road has trackage rights, in this case, it's CPKC, UP, AMTRK, and NOPB. https://fragis.fra.dot.gov/gisfrasafety/
