KCS mainline

Unread postby wlenz781 » Tue Sep 24, 2019 10:14 am

Looking for experienced route builders that are interested in helping a couple of rookies build parts of the KCS mainline. The sections that we would like to build are the Pittsburg subdivision from Pittsburg, KS to Heavener, OK with the service line to Ft. Smith, AR; the Heavener subdivision through the mountains to Shreveport, LA; and the final subdivision from Shreveport, LA to NOLA. I would love to find someone that has a copy of ReDEM to create 1/3-arc second terrain data and to offer guidance on smoothing terrain to reduce the grade percentage to make the grades realistic.

Would love to form a team that can create some amazing KCS content. We could collaborate to create engine and rolling stock repaints to run down this route. We could even create a website to publish all our content. If anyone is interested in forming a team please PM me and let's see what we can create together.

The KCS Ft. Smith line is already available here and very nicely done.

Yes, but he has it done as a dual line route with a 55mph speed limit. It is also missing a lot of industry in Ft. Smith. I want to do an updated version of that route. I am also looking to extend the mainline portion beyond the few miles between Heavener and Poteau for those that want to run longer freight trains along the mainline.

I am all ahead for this project. I have the Shreveport subdivision started just need terrain help. This will be a chance to put the Southern Class 1 railroad in the showcase.
