1950s road traffic

Unread postby SAR704 » Sat Jul 20, 2019 9:44 am

I am looking for some 1950s (or earlier) cars to include in my custom route. I actually read a similar thread (see link directly below), but couldn't pinpoint the exact method the original poster used. I noticed that he last logged on in Dec 2017, so contacting him doesn't seem to be an option.

I know that animations weren't described, and may not be included, but they use the 1950s car pack by member jpetersjr. I am not too fussed about which side the steering wheel is on, but just to be clear, I don't want to rely on payware assets for this, as I prefer for everything in the route to be free, (not including the base game obviously).

The OP's post -
I made a "loft" asset that references the built in Kuju shape file for the road, a traffic controller and prop vehicle assets that reference the cars in the jpetersjr folder and placed them in my own folder structure.
(Followed by an image of them on the road in question).

My question is, do these cars have to reference a specific road loft by Kuju, or can they reference any? I also don't understand the 'prop assets'. It's getting late here, but I am just in need of a bit of additional information, in case anybody has done something similar to this.

Is there not traffic in the RWA Route from that era?

I haven't checked for myself, but whilst I don't intend to be rude, I am specifically looking for examples that are not from routes which are paid addons.

From the File Library here:
1949 DeSoto

1957 DeSoto

1957 Bel Air

Harley Davidson Motorcycles

Our friends across the pond at UKTS also have some cars of this era, although it'll take some work to decide what cars fit your region.
VW Beetle

Ford Popular - saloon and van

USA Saloons

Citroens, various plus onion sellers (?)

This is by no means a comprehensive list, but it should be enough to get you started. UKTS has some other cars from other devs as well.

I don't know of anything in the something for nothing crowd that has done anything in the period that you are looking for.
