US Semaphore Signals 1950's

Unread postby render2017 » Thu Apr 28, 2011 5:29 am

Does anyone know of US semaphore signals for RW. My route is based in 1958 and semaphore was still common. However, from research US semaphore point away from the track, and the only ones (UK) I can find are all pointing towards the track. And the colour bar system is differnet to UK too !

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

I'm not aware of any US semaphores having been released for RW yet. I know Cecil Kerr was working on one (upper quadrant style) for his route, but I have no idea about how close to finished that model is. I once tried my hands at this too, but couldn't come up with an idea for how to animate the intermediate state of the signal blade (for approach), I could only get stop or clear to work, and gave up (quite quickly, actually, I didn't dig very deeply). I'm sure it can be done somehow, there must be something in the LUAs or where ever.

Cheers,
Michael

Thanks Michael,
I guess it will happen one day, then I can just substitute the temporary Colour Light signals I will have to use for now.
Cheers
