LEVEL CROSSING ISSUE

I am building a route. Was placing level crossing. Coming from MSTS I know the importance of saving often. So I place the first level crossing, save. Move to the next location, place that level crossing, and save again. What I am experiencing, as I place the RR crossing, and get it all setup and working, the one I placed at the previous crossing disappears! I have gone and tried a few different rr crossings, all with the same result, as I place the next one, the previous one replaced has disappeared.

Has anyone else experienced this??? Or know of a resolution to this issue?

Are you completing the necessary steps? You have to place the signal, click on each track where a road sectio n crosses, then right-click to change to "road mode" and add a link on the road on either side of the crossing. Right-click again and everything should stick. You can then select the set crossing and adjust its possition, as well as fine tune the track and road links. Only then can you move onto the next crossing.

Yes, I used one of the youtube vids to learn how to place them. These particular crossings are all single track crossings. So I select the the crossing, place it in the center of the track, then select that track, as it's the only one. And then it moves me to the road editing part, and so then I place the stop points for the cars. I then make sure that I correct that one automobile stop point to make sure it points towards the track. Then I proceed to individually move the signals and gates to get them lined up better. After all that I hit save and move on to the next crossing, and thats when I notice the previous crossing is gone!! I don't think I am missing any steps.

Sounds like you did everything right. Try this: place the crossing, save, do one more and save again. Then exit, clear cache and restart the sim to see if one or both crossings are still there.

I did as you directed, but clearing the cache didn't bring back the lost ones. But I have three down now, without any of the previous one's being deleted. So that's a step in the right direction!

What did you do differently on those?

I think I was leaving out a left mouse click in the process. Center the level crossing in the center of the crossing, I would then right click over that box and place the stop points on the road. I am finding that after the left mouse click placement, I was not doing a second mouse click over the box, to mark the track. That's the only thing I am doing different, adding a second left mouse click, before the right click to move to placing the stop points on the road. I now have all my level crossing completed, that I have modelled so far.
