So here's a bit of a back story before I get into my question...

So I'm in the process of switching my route over from 3rd party assets to a majoriy of DTG assets so that I can have it be compatible in the Steam Workshop. So I originally had a turntable from the Portland Terminal route in one of my yards. I went to disabel the portland terminal assets in the editor and forgot about the turntable. Needless to say I went to enable it and now it won't come up. I can find the turntable in the XML code in my Tracks.xml file but I can't seem to figure out where it begins or ends in order to remove it. I also tried re-enabling the assets in hopes that it would re-appear but nothing. I only see the track end marker things and a little white knob in the middle. I thought by re-enabling the assets it would re-appear, but it hasn't.

Anyone have any idea how I can A.) get it to re-appear so I can delete it in editor or B.) edit the xml so that I can delete it in code?

Any thoughts, ideas, and solutions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm guessing the little white knob is one of the somewhat infamous milk bottles which means the asset is missing. Somehow you didn't restore it like you think you did.

I think so, any idea how to restore it?

I assume that you have RWTools. Run the route check and see if it comes up missing. If not run the shapes search and then go find it and have RWTools check that particular asset and see if it can fix it.

Let me know if that solves the problem or not. For some reason turntables are one of the weirder assets.

So I Tried what you suggested but it seems the asset is still missing in Game.

It's using the Portland Teminal Route Turntabe, I have the assets enabled, but it still won't show. I also ran a cache verification. Deleted .pak files and had it rebuild them. Got any other ideas?

Did RWTools say it was there?

It had the asset folder listed when i did a check but I didn't see if it was there in the list or not...where would I see it in RW_Tools? I'm using RW_Tools for TS2015.

You are way back in versions and it's now free. Having said that go to Route Building Tools and then Check Routes or scenarios. Highlight the route and see if anything is missing. It will be in magenta if somethings not there.

So I downloaded the new RW-Tools. I tried checking the files and nothing came up missing.

Well after some digging theought he XML code I found that there were some wrong refrence codes...matched everything up to a previous backup that I knew had a working turntable and was able to get it back. Thanks for the help Buzz!

I was just about to send you the whole mess to see if your file looked like mine. Glad you found it.

I can remove the turntable itself...but i can't remove the track ribbons... it still thinks it's there even though it's not...and I can't delete the tracks without crashing the game...

So here's an update on the never ending removal of my Turntable...

I am able to remove the object but when I try to remove each track node (there's 20 of them) by XML (through RW_Tools) I end up removing all the track in my route.... is there any easy way to remove the turntable completely without having to redo all my trackage all over again? I've been trying repeatedly with no avail. Can anyone help me please? I'm losing my mind over this.

How about burying the unwanted track underground and forgetting about it.

Because the turntable is part of the route that will be needed and I need to replace it with a non-G-TraX turntable as it will not be able to be used in the Steam Workshop. I am planning on replacing it with the DTG NJCL Turntable.
