RW Decal

OK, I may have this thread in the wrong place... May go in the Scenery section....

Has there been an update for RW Decal since 2012? (Only one I've found for download.)

Basically one that will work with the current version of Google Earth??

The problem is the website says you need Google Earth 6.1 or lower in order for the decal to work. That would be no big deal except the only place I've even found 6.1 is on these file download sites that have every computer virus known to man.....

Thanks.

The one you found was likely the last version, and yes, only works with the older version of Google Earth.

Any particular reason why you wouldn't just use the built-in Google Maps feature in TS?
Cheers!

My friend and I are working on a route (WP&Y) and the Goggle imagery is just out right blurry and we've even hit spots using the Static Maps key that shows nothing except for a GE message saying it "can't provide imagery for this area."

My friend says he has read the decal will help for such spots.

We are both new to RW/TS so is there a difference between the built in TS feature and a Static Map key?

If your features are blurry you need to play around with the resolution . It's possible to get it fairly crisp. Where are you working that you have blank spots? I've worked on four different routes and I've never seen a blank spot.

Google Earth Pro is what we are using. Those images are nice and crisp and a good reason we have got as far as we have with our route. There are many spots where we laid track that was "Best Guess" due to blurry spots using the static maps. Both of us have adjusted settings and that has helped but it's still hard to see where the track goes in some spots thus we refer to GE and lay track(s) the best we can.

It may be a graphics card issue.... Both my friend and I have middle of the road computers. HP Pavilion on my end, and my friend has some sort of hybrid Mac/Windows computer. Both have middle of the line graphics cards. (I would have to look up what I have if anyone wants to know.)

We are making due with the "system" (if you can call it that) we have come up with for laying track on this route. Not the best, but it does get the job done. Just at a much slower, and many times annoying pace.

I use a combination of the in game google and Google Earth which I look at regularly while I'm doing development.
