VNHRR assets.

Hello, all.
I am currently building a route that uses a Lot of VNHRR assets. However, I am using version 2.
If I get version 3 (Steam version or email update version), delete version 2, then go into the route, will all the assets remain?

Clone version 2 and you won't have to worry. All the assets will be saved.

Thanks, but does that mean that other people who have deleted version 2 can't download my route and see the assets?
I don't think T&D will keep V.2 on their website, sooo... !*don-know!*

If you want to publish this route, you'd better check every asset from V2 and see whether it's still in V3. If not, swap it for something else.
Use RW-Tools' "Check routes and scenario" tool for this.

Thanks, Chacal. I will do that as soon as I get V.3.

Hi,

"Yes and no", I'm afraid. The Trains and Drivers update to Version 3 will keep all your old assets in place and only expand them (or replace some with better ones). I don't know how the Steam version was packaged but I assume that they deleted all unused files and assets from it before uploading it to the store. At Trains and Drivers we did not do this, so there may be a few assets that we did not use ourselves but that are still present in the route editor.

Using RW_Tools' "Check Routes" function really is your safest bet, after upgrading to v3 if you use the Steam version yourself. If you use the T&D version (which I think you will given that you already have v2) it gets a bit more complicated and, ideally, you'll need somebody else who only has the Steam version to run the missing files test for you.

However, all that being said, there shouldn't be any crucial assets missing. We used *most* of our assets anyway, stuff that may have ended up being unused are things like the tenth color paint of a small house, a tree, maybe one or two clutter items. The important bits should be there in all versions, the one notable exception being our pre-v3 signaling which we replaced entirely.

Cheers
Michael

That's good to hear, GreatNortherner. I barely used any clutter items, and none of your signals. A lot of your mill buildings, though.
