Is there any way to to stop the scenery objects from rotating during placement while the the google map overlays are turned on? It gets annoying to time the objects to get them in the right position.

They don't do that here. No idea what's causing that.

I noticed this today as well whilst placing houses. A PITA in my opinion, and should be fixed.

I have the same problem. It is really annoying, especially when trying to place several of the same object in a yard where clutter is needed or scenery objects.

Could it be something in your settings? I have never seen that.

Ensure your auto rotate option isn't enabled here in the lower left:

Wayne I don't understand what the auto rotate does? To you other guys what happens is you hit the f or g key while this object is rotating?

Auto-rotate is documented in Railworks\dev\Docs\HOWTOUSE_TS15Tech.pdf section 10. When you place objects in the scene, they are randomly rotated about the vertical axis. For example if you are placing a bunch of 'cow' models in a field, each one will be facing a different random direction. Its faster than placing them and then rotating them as two separate steps. Similarly, there are options for random sizing, eg if you are placing a bunch of bushes, each will be a different size. And an option for random vertical offset. Each object is buried a little to a random depth - maybe for trees so that some have a long trunk exposed and some have a shorter trunk above ground. I use the auto-rotation and auto-sizing feature a lot - its a big help and improves realism.
PS - I am not certain if this is what the OP is experiencing, but I mention it on the off chance it helps.

I am interested in hearing back from lostinthe80s04, SAR704 or davedingler if their problems were related to this auto-rotate option, or if there is something else going on.

Thanks Wayne,
My problem is solved. I had inadvertently selected the auto rotate feature and that was causing the problem I had with objects being rotated when multi-items were being placed. All is good now.
Thanks,
Dave
