Speed Limit

Unread postby Unlimited » Sat Jan 08, 2011 10:20 pm

Hello Railworks Community,

I'm new to this forum and sorta new to creating a route. And I found something I screwed up on that I don't know how to fix. I laid track without setting the speed limit then, and now I got quite a bit laid out. And I do not want to go through and replace all the track. Right now, the speed limit for the yard is 50. But, I want it to be about 15 or so. Anyone know how I can change that without redoing all the track again?

Thanks

Hi,

You can use the "Select" tool in the top left flyout. (It looks like a dotted box)

When you click the second point, a flyout will open on the right, where you can edit the track speed.

This process can be messy so be careful with it.

What He said... also, you may find sections of track that you cannot change, as the flyout comes up blank with a 'mixed track rules' error. If you find that happens, you'll need to find where the track rules changed (e.g. you used US and English track rules together in your layout), then place the select pointer at the break, then advance until you reach another type of track. Do not overlay them and you'll be able to set your speeds.

Also, when you are editing track, you can press the spacebar to see several items about your track. Speed is the fourth press (IIRC) and the speeds will be different colors. If you have a difference between freight and passenger speeds, it will show as two colors representing each spreed.
