Old track section. Texture issue

Unread postby SAR704 » Mon Aug 17, 2015 3:13 am

I exported an old IGS file into TS and I notice that the top of the rail seems to have two textures applied to it, and they are consequently flickering. Is there a way to edit the IGS file so that this extra texture can be removed? I can't edit it in 3D Canvas since this was designed in Version 8, which fails to run on my PC.

On another note, this circle function which enables you to select a mass of objects with an unlimited radius is just plain stupid in my opinion. For the second time today, I've inadvertently expanded it too far, and subsequently deleted everything in the route and saved it. Windows backup has been of no help. There should be an option to limit the radius to 1 km.

I'm only at the track laying laying stage with the route (it's fictional), but this is extremely annoying. Almost as annoying as the time I moved that folder by accident to the Railworks folder.....

You can edit the texture references in the file by opening it in RW_Tools and possibly change the named texture to one that can hide the part using an alpha, but will only work if that part uses an alpha-enabled material to begin with.
Cheers!
