Not sure if Alexander, MD is a thing but I'm thinking you may have meant Alexandria, MD which is in Virginia and that would mean you're making the RF&P line.

Stayed in Ashland, VA. track side for a week. Very busy mainline. Lots of Tropicana juice trains / Amtrak rolling by.
Don't have to be concerned with too many curves.
