Getting v48.0a.dmp error on my route in specific spot

I keep getting this error when I cross over a certain portion of my route, or get within a certain distance from it. I can edit and doing anything else everywhere else but on that particular portion of the route. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

One common cause is a terrain texturing problem such as a missing or badly formed terrain texture image.

is there a way to fix the terrain texture? Maybe using RW_Tools?

I've had the same problem on my route. Several miles of track and lots of scenery had been entered on the far side of the fault area. This seems to be a line decals or terrain images that are corrupted. I haven't been able to figure it out. I've tried driving an engine along the routes to determine where the fault is; entered lat/lon for a point past the fault line; and selection of decal beyond the fault, all to be hit with the frozen program and the warning that come visible after the C/A/D key combo.

The strange thing about this problem is that, if I hit it while driving an engine, I still have the engine sound, but clicking on any potion of the screen results in nothing happening. Waiting several minutes for the computer to regain operation is fruitless. C/A/D and start all over again, ending in the same results.

I have restarted the track laying of my route again for about the 4th time.

Hope someone can figure out a way to find and fix the problem.

Dave

When I ran into this issue I took my earlier saved copy and copied and pasted the whole scenery folder after making the present one a scenery.xxx folder to see if that fixed the problem. If it did not then that the mixmap and do the same thing until by the process of elimination you can determine which folder it is in. Then find the spot where you get the dump or freeze go to almost there and see what tile you are on. Coming at it from each direction will pretty much determine which couple of tiles are the culprits. Then substitute just the tiles one at a time until your route works again. Sounds kind of fiddly but it's the only method I have found that works with these mystery issues other than starting to remove things until it works which is a lot more fiddly. In each case that I ran into this situation it was on the mixmap tile that was pooched. In case you are a little vague on what does what those are the tiles that show the ground textures.

How did you replace the texture? by painting over it?

I replaced the tile by using one from an earlier version of route that I had saved.

Thanks Buzz, thats very helpful. I'll try your methods to see if I can regain the area.

So, I found the tile but I think all of my back up tiles are corrupt. Any ideas as to how I can replace the tile?

Is it a mixmap or some other?
