Help on Preparing and Uploading My Route

Hello!
I just finished creating a fictional Boston and Maine Railroad branchline in the route editor. I am really excited to have the route available for all to download: I just have no idea how to do that. Could anybody post some step-by-step instructions on how to prepare and upload my route for public download? It would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!

Congrats!
!*brav*!
Can't wait to see your route!
B&M is one of my favorite roads.
Maybe you could post a few screenshots here?

Many people here know about packaging a route and someone is sure to help you.

Before you upload it to the file library, however, may I suggest that you ask for a couple of beta testers, so that any remaining problem can be ironed out before it goes public?
Making a route available in the library is a lot of work for Bob, and it would be nice to avoid making him repeating it several times before you have a final version.

Ok my first question is do you have RWTools. If you do you do run a check route to make the necessary lists for distribution.

My second question is how much payware did you use and how much freeware? You need to figure that out cause you can't package any copyrighted material. The list that RWtools makes allows you to remove and copyrighted material.

I am more than happy to help. Just PM me or keep posting here and I will check back. There are alot of members that are experienced with this game. I am sure you will get some more answers.
Let me know
Matthew !!*ok*!! !*cheers*!

I do have RWTools! I will do a check and see. I'm a bit worried though because I used a lot of assets from the Horseshoe Curve, Portland Terminal, RWA and VNH Springfield Routes in order to have era-appropriate materials....So I assume that wold affect the route? !**conf**!

Most people here have all those routes so that shouldn't be a big problem.

You won't be packaging those payware assets with your route, of course.
But you must write a description, for the file library and for a readme file, which explains clearly what payware routes and assets are necessary.
Users should be able to read this before they choose whether to download your route or not.

I will make a list of the assets needed, to place in the read-me and website description. In the meantime, some screenshots. The route is fictional but takes aspects from many B&M Branches such as the Wolfeboro Branch, the Greenville Branch and the Hillsboro Branch. The branch leaves a mainline yard and travels through an urban city environment, serving many industries. As the branch heads out into the countryside, and towards the mountains, it passes farms and traverses a lake via causeway. The line then climbs a steep embankment past a sand quarry and crosses a gorge over a high trestle (modeled after the real life B&M Greenville Branch Trestle) before dead-ending in a small mountain community, complete with a coal trestle and other industries.

That looks fantastic! Absolutely love that bridge with the road going under it. Great job.

Thank you! I modeled it after this: http://www.poltrack.net/life-in-new-ipswich/historicnewipswich/greenvillenhrailroadtrestle It was an interesting structure because in real life, such an impressive bridge carried a basically useless and forgotten dead-end branch...it was said that when the Greenville Branch was mentioned, even the most seasoned B&M engineer would reply, "What's that?" *!!wink!!*

That's very interesting and looks good so far!

There are 2 options for packaging a route:

1- Using the TS2014 packager (utilities.exe).
Instructions in the RW Creator manual, and I presume tutorials on the web.
This is a good and easy method when you don't have to include extra assets.
It is also easier for users and the preferred method for DTG.

2- Using RW-Tools "package route" function.
Instructions in RW_Tools_Help.pdf

Also search for "packaging route" here on RWA.
