REQUEST: Can Someone Please Lay This Track Section For Me?

I've been trying and trying to build a small 6 mile loop route, but I just cannot get the hang of it (laying track). I guess I'm too old to figure it out? *!embar*!

Anyhow, would someone be willing to put this route together for me? As you can see, it only needs to be 6-7 miles in length and have a couple of sidings. All I want is the track to be installed and nothing else.

Please let me know if you're interested. I'll even be happy to pay for your service if need be.

Thanks very much,
Steve
!*cheers*!

Hmm.... this could be a fun little project. If I get to it I may end up adding some other track as well. What are your thoughts on scenery for this route?

Well I honestly haven't thought about that. Maybe have a mountainous background? Perhaps a lake in the middle of it with a small stream running under a section of track? I was going to turn the route in to a Tourist Railroad using some of my passenger cars I have on hand.

Thank you for the consideration *!!thnx!!*

From what I've learned is you need to do the terrain FIRST then lay the track, not the other way around. There are some really good videos on youtube about laying track. I learned the basics after watching a 15 minute video. Its actually fun! Try one of these -

I was actually of thinking of doing the terrain myself on this route. Should the scenery look more like the Appalachians, or should it have more of a Rocky Mountain or Desert look?

Were you intending the route to be used by steam or diesel locomotives?

What assets do you want me to use in this route? Preferably I will use all assets from Steam so I can put this route on workshop if I end up making it.

Any idea for a name for this route?

Thanks, Steve. :D

I was thinking an Appalachian Mountain look, and the route use both Steam and Diesel power.

Wanted to use passenger cars (since I wanted it to be a fictional tourist railroad), but maybe toss in a few freight cars for photo runs.

Haven't got any idea for a name; how about Foggy Mountain Scenic Railroad or Appalachian Scenic Railroad something like that?

I'll see what I can do. I suppose I will use the Horseshoe Curve route and possibly Marias Pass for assets.

Not to interfere however you can do what you are discussing using all free stuff and still have plenty of nice scenery. Between KUJU, RCAP, the free stuff from 3D, and the free stuff from UKTS you really don't need to use any payware. NERW is the classic example.

Also, if you want to set the route in the 60's I'd be more then happy to send you all my 60's cars and my couple new 50's vehicles early, such as this 1950 Mercury Coupe.

You don't have to use a ton of payware assets to make a good freeware route. These are to come with the Riverland Lines route, but I'd be more then happy to also provide them for this route early. I developed them for that route, but I would also be happy to share them on this route as well.

Since anyways the real passenger era died out at the end of the 50's and the beginning of the 60's.

...Cheers...

Steve, this is the track for you. As you requested.

Is this enough?

Can you place signals yourself?

Daniel

Daniel, THANK YOU so much for this!!!! The track looks great!! I truly appreciate you taking the time to put this together. If i can ever be of any help to you with something, please let me know.

As for "signals", I've never installed any before. The only thing I've figured out how to do is place buildings and trees, etc around the tracks. I guess my old age is showing lol *!lol!*

Does this mean that I should call off my project to build this? Don't worry, I haven't really done anything.

Oh no John, please continue with it. Based on what you described, it sounds to be a very fine looking route, plus it's always fun to see alternatives to something, so again please continue assembling the route, and thank you for working on it *!!thnx!!*

I am currently working on another route at the moment, however maybe I'll construct something like this when the "Next-Gen" Train Simulator is released and in need of routes.

For now, if you want a rural route to run that passenger car of yours the closest thing you may get is the Raquette Lake Railway, available on Steam Workshop.

!!**sorry**!!
