Signals

Unread postby nsl714 » Thu Apr 24, 2014 11:56 pm

In the past few days I have been figuring out block signalling, (see my North Shore thread in the Freeware WIP section). I have elected to use the C&O signals from the RCAP pack. For the most part I have deciphered what the code names mean.

For instance.. "RCAP: C&O_USR2_H2(32)T2" is a US&S R2 Signal with 2 heads (top having 3 lights, bottom having 2), and protection/coverage of 2 diverging lines.

The one thing I cannot figure out is that some signals have a P or R suffix after them. A "RCAP: C&O_USR2_H1T0" has a "RCAP: C&O_USR2_H1T0P" version and a "RCAP: C&O_USR2_H1T0R" version in addition to the un-suffixed version. I have looked at video tutorials, but the only ones I have found are UK based, and these suffixes do not show up in the UK signalling systems.

Can anyone shed light on the meaning and purpose of the "P" and "R" versions of signals?

Thanks,

Zach

Permissive
Restrictive

If I remember correctly Pike's videos talk about how to set them up.

Thanks Papa, that certainly makes sense.

I have also gone and found the above mentioned tutorials. I will definitely have to go through and listen/watch when I have some free time.

Thanks Again,
Zach
