Falmouth Signals Problem

Unread postby render2017 » Tue Mar 04, 2014 6:49 am

On the route I am building I have a need for lower quadrant signals. The closest I could find is the Falmouth route signals.
I managed to get the signals working OK, but realised after that there was a small error in the track. I made the change to remove the error which involved cutting a section out and adding a new one back in. After that I am unable to get any of the signals to work, totally inoperative, fixed on RED.
Can anyone tell me why and how I can fix it please.

First thought: is the new piece of track properly welded in and creating a valid track-path? It sounds like the track is broken somewhere causing the signal to display red (no valid path detected)

I have inspected the first time this happened and there was no apparent break. Even ran a train over the area to test. I reinstalled every signal and it worked until I reworked the track in another place. Same thing, it seems the signal gets blocked during the rework and never resets. I hope there should be a way to reset? It does not happen with US style signals (or never happened to me).

How are you testing the signals? A scenario? Are you going from edit to play to edit to play with out actually exiting TS? Signals initiate at the beginning of a scenario. If you load a save the signals and even AI can get screwed up. Signals will reinitiate instead of returning to their saved states.

Save your route, then get out of TS. Restart TS and run the scenario and see what happens then. Or maybe you knew this already?

Yes, I tried all that, even cleared cache, verified, and tried replacing selected signals at beginning and end of track. Still does not work. Only an issue with Falmouth lower quadrant signals and the signals used on Racquett Route also does it. Mistified, and it has held up my development schedule. Only fix has been to replace ALL signals but that is now not a practical solution.
