Hello all,

I'm sorry to bother you all with this but I'm quite literally stuck. I've been trying to import some DEM terrain for a Pennsylvanian shortline railroad I want to re-create in TS 2014, but seeing as I'm running on Windows 8 I cannot find any software that will work on my computer that will convert the USGS data for import. I already tried microdem but it won't do much outside of give me error messages. The favor I'm asking is this, Would someone here be willing to convert the DEM files into the format I could import them into the route? I'll take it from there, I'm not asking for anyone to build the route for me. It's not a huge railroad, less than 4.5 miles end to end. If anyone out here would be willing to assist me please fire me a PM or reply here.

Thanks in Advance!
Jimmy L. (Fleegle411)

Hack's method worked for me. I'm using Window 7, but should work for version 8 as well.

If I tried to use the "All files" method it just sat there with an indication that it was working but nothing happened. I left that box unchecked and loaded the folder where all the IMG files containing the "Bil Output" folders were located and followed the directions indicated by Hack & Viola! it worked. Go back through the folders and rename the QGIS output and you are ready for REDEM.

Just a note: After clicking the "OK" button to get the .wld file, click on the select button above the OK button to see if the .wld file was added, then click the "UP" arrow at the top of the window to get back to the directory where your DEM files are located. Then run the operation again until all are done.
