A freeware dummy yard signal?

Unread postby Toripony » Tue Dec 31, 2013 2:58 am

Has anyone made or does anyone know how to make a (freeware) dummy yard signal that does not show on the 2D map? I am using signals and sinking them out of sight to create blocks for AI traffic in the yards, but the proliferation of lights on the 2D map is looking ridiculous. I didn't find too much in the forums about it and I tried to look at the Steven's Pass dummy but I don't know anything about ".out" files.

Thanks for any info. !!howdy!!

I have one. Pikehkr made it(them). He used a railroad tie as a place marker. It can also be added in a scenario. Pacific Surfliner and Sherman Hill have them by RSC. They are invisible.

Tori, are you referring to those symbols that look something like red 4-leaf clovers on the 3-D map? I've seen those occasionally, most recently on the 1.0 release of the VNHRR, which includes a lot of hidden signals in the large Springfield yards. After a day or so, they just vanished and have not returned, as though the 2D's cartographer marked the signals in vanishing ink. Another peculiarity of this simulator, I suppose. Actually, I was sorry to see them go, since they let me know where those signals were located as I wrote scenarios. Fortunately, Michael has marked each signal with a barrel.
