Placement and rotation of assets

Unread postby ozinoz » Sun Nov 17, 2013 12:39 am

I have finally made a start on my heritage Sherman Hill, while I wait on other things to brew. I am having an issue with the turntable and roundhouse tracks in Cheyenne. I had planned to swap out the pitiful attempt supplied by RSC with the kit roundhouse that resides in VNHRR, however, I am having issues aligning with the rail spacing and secondly, aligning the building itself. There must be a simple way of grabbing the asset and placing it where you need it, pirouetting where needed so it can be properly aligned? If using the widget is how the route builders do it, then they deserve all the $$ they can get. The widget seems too far from the asset to see what is happening and instead of turning in itself so you can align with the rail, it rotates around a point on a radius of about 200 feet. Makes it difficult to say the least **!!bang!!**

I cant believe it is that hard, otherwise nothing would get built. Probably just me !DUH!

!*cheers*!

Since the table is a track asset, the rotation is dependent on where you click - if done near the center, than all should be OK. To get a specific end to align, I believe you need to use the join tool and select one of the table ends, and then the track it's to connect to.
Cheers!
