I think the track may well be the same as the regular ScaleRail track so it would not be some double secret item. I'll check it out when I get a few minutes.

Unfortunately much of the track is the specific 'UP' and 'BNSF' series track that Marc made for the Tehachapi route

I am not sure how this works. Am I correct that in some routes, other trackage has been substituted route to route, I think that I saw this in one of the Donner Pass reincarnations. Can trackage from other routes be used as dependencies in PRB? Techachapi Pass would be an issue because it was payware but PRB is not.

I swapped out the track on another route years ago but don't remember exactly how I went about it.

Scroll to the bottom on this thread, and Buzz posted a DL link to the manual pages from RW Tools/TS Tools on how to do this.

Swapping track is really easy. All you have to do is replace a few bin files. The track assets are usually named: Track01, Track02, Track03, etc. They may have different names which is the case for some routes, like Tehachapi. They are located in the RailNetwork folder and if you are using this method, I recommend that you make a backup of the track files.
Now, of course, this is one of many ways of swapping track, but using the method provided in the TS Tools manual would probably be a safer way of doing it, as the instructions are more clear.

I wish Tomcat would weigh in on what he thinks about all this?

My thoughts would be that whoever doesn't have the 3dTrains Tehachapi can try their hands at swapping the track (but still using Tim's custom PRB track rule) on their own personal downloaded copies of the PRB if they are so inclined. Tim chose those assets because they best represent the prototype for the route. I don't know how many people own the Tehachapi route, but its by no means a small number. I wouldn't expect Tim to do anything different with his route based on the 3dT situation. His call of course.

Considering that no one has a clue about the status of the author of any of this in spite of repeated attempts by many of us to reach out to him in several different ways with no success and the amount of time and effort Tomcat has put in on this endeavor for no commercial gain it would seem appropriate that releasing the track information would be approved under the "Fair Use' clause for intellectual property.

Providing the proviso "Not for any Commercial use or Gain" is clearly stated, I agree.

The best like-for-like track replacement is probably the Racetrack route on Steam, which comes with the complete set of ATSF ScaleRail that is very similar to the UP/BNSF versions that were originally bundled with Tehachapi. The textures are a little different, but I believe the actual shape profile of the loft is the same so you won't end up with track clipping through bridges or terrain. For anyone looking for guidance on doing so, there's a guide for swapping track with RW/TS Tools: http://www.agenetools.com/tutorials/RepTrack.pdf

When I try to run some of the 'Standard' scenarios for the Power River Basin I get the following "can't load" errors.

JR23X_Tank_UTLX
covhopper_generic
JR SD40-2BN Strobes
StP ES44DC BNSF (No Driver) DP
Covered_Hopper WFRX_weathered
JR SD40-2 Union Pacific
JR100T_NS_Loaded

So my question is, what are these things (reskins) or other consist items and where do I find them?

So, unlike Steam standard missions, standard missions for the PRB are ALL user community created. That means they will more than likely include items made by the user community. The “JR” items noted above are from Searchlight Simulations for example. The other items could be from anywhere. You’ll either have to search these forums for those items or use RWTools to find out how to locate these assets. Your other alternative is to edit the standard missions you have and replace those assets with ones that you do have so the missions will run successfully.

JR23X_Tank_UTLX can be from https://www.store.searchlight-simulatio ... ck-pack-01 or from the former 23k Tank package (no more available)
JR SD40-2BN Strobes from the BN package by searchlightsimulations, not available at the moment. Same with JR SD40-2 Union Pacific.
StP ES44DC BNSF (No Driver) DP is an ES44DC from Stevens Pass patched by https://www.store.searchlight-simulatio ... ement-pack .
JR100T_NS_Loaded is no more available. Replacement suggestion: http://www.rrmods-rw.com/product-catego ... uct-page=2

Replacement can be done by tstools or locoswap, locoswap is much more faster and simple: https://rail-sim.de/forum/filebase/entr ... -tauschen/

(You see here the "StP ES44DC BNSF (No Driver) DP" - don't use it as a driver's loco)

Thank you for all the info.
The loco swap program looks much better to use for me.
I've never edited any routes or scenario, I just like to drive the train.
