A couple of suggestions. First hit the F2 button frequently to save seems to help with crashing. I also have a gadget from Oibit called Advance SystemCare. They have a free version. In it is a utlilty called Performance Monitor. It has a button on it called Clean Ram. Every few minutes (I keep it open all the time) I hit the clean ram and then the F2. My computer almost literally never crashes while I am route building using these tricks. Someone more knowledgeable can explain this maybe but our machines particularly don't seem to like lots of terrain being changed or painting a bunch of ground texture. This seems to fix both of these problems.

I had lots of crashes when tweaking long consists until I upgraded my cpu and ram, my guess is the ram was the key.

Ram is the key. By "cleaning" it as buzz suggested will greatly reduce the crashes. It fills up as you're editing till it runs out of buffer space then dumps everything "the crash".

Still going on? Would love to see the EBT on Rw. I can get some images of an old EBT hopper the Pinecreek Railroad has on display (i mean really detailed pictures can get very close to the car since i volunteer there !!*ok*!! ) Also an old EBT Combine car

It had stopped as my old PC would crash so often when route building it became a waste of time.. But I have just bought a brand new one and runs the game so well, I'm not use to these graphics! To answer your question once I get round to moving all my stuff over to my new PC I shall start working on it again! Random screenshot on the Feather River Canyon.. Should be able to improve the scenery along the route now as it won't kill my PC !*roll-laugh*!

I am curious, the Clear Creek dual gauge track always gave me trouble. It never seemed to work within the editor and the actual operation of it. The question is, is it suppose to act like dual gauge track or not? I can never get the standard gauge to work correctly.

It's not really supposed to work on Clear Creek, the small amount of dual gauge on my route works.

I told you it hadn't died.. ;) Scenery quality will be even better now! I've got track up to the Long Fill..

Question.. Does this look like Pennsylvania? I feel like its missing something, possibly the EBT stock? *!lol!*

I always try to put some stone on the terrain along the road bed. It just isn't real looking that you get a cutoff where the track ballast ends.

I agree with you, the EBT's track is a tricky one, some parts of the track look brand new, some slightly overgrown.
There is lots of what looks like ash along the "Long Fill" as its known.. Not sure how I'm going to replicate that.

Have you looked at the berms I am using on the MRL? I would be happy to share them with you. If you don't think any of the textures are what you are looking for it's easy to change them. I am using one of Michael Stephens models with his permission. I have them all in one folder that has both single and double track versions.
