I’m always endlessly flattered to see people engage with routes I’ve published beyond my original scope, whether it be with repaints or scenarios or route edits.

All my currently published routes are purely fictional, and tend to present an idealized modern version of northern New England railroads, which have long since plummeted from their peak and will take a good while to recover (I’m a realistic optimist so I’m hopeful that they’ll be back in the next 50 years). Seeing people produce content like they have been— especially things I never would have even thought of— makes these little worlds feel that much more real.

Hartmann Grain was still in operation in the 1960-1970 period and here we see a shot from the Coastguard helicopter of 4750 cu.ft hoppers being loaded. The photographer was lucky to get a shot showing the hatch open and grain actually in flow.

I am aware that Maine Central did not have Budd RDCs but Jack's route memntioned their use so here they are in action (soon to be in the library). They work Bangor to Butler Yard then over PC&I metals (with PC&I crews) to Oak Bay and back before continuing to Calais (with MEC crews from Butler North). In the afternoon the reverse is true. These are screenshots of the Northbound working on the Oak Bay back to Butler run.

Oooo, me likey. Currently, Finger Lakes Railroad has started using a Budd RDC for passenger service on the ex-Maine Central Rockland Branch, which is where I got the inspiration for such a service. Now we have some RDCs for it!

The Budd RDC in MEC livery are repaints of the B&M RDC which itself is an add on to the New Haven RDC all on the GreatNortherner website.
Available here: http://www.golden-age-rails.com/packsrw/buddrdcbm.html

Michael's generosity has made these freeware but you need the originals for the repaints to work. Please read the ReadMe in the folder.

Further to previous posts I have been backdating Jack's route to the 1960-70s with the railcar ferry service working and most of the "abandoned/lightly used" spurs/sidings re-instated including the port at Wilhelmshaven.

Edit: Route and Assets now in the library, thanks Chacal
The assets folder includes some custom repaints previously posted plus some that haven't been.

When the RDC passenger operations, using MEC equipment, on the P&CI were shown to be reasonably successful the parent company, Thurmont and Branford Railway, decided to get some for the West End. They bought an RDC-1, an RDC-2 for the mail traffic and an RDC-3 for conversion into a Business Car with Kitchen and dining in the former baggage compartment. Here is the RDC-1 on revenue service.

"Giddy" doesn't even begin to describe the look on my face as I fly around mindenjohn's backdated version of my route.

I'm not going to spoil more than what's already been posted since I really want you guys to try it for yourselves but there's tons of changes on this route and it makes me insurmountably happy to see them.

I will say that I can't find the Maine Central RDC in the assets download, however. Besides that though, this is phenomenal. *!!thnx!!*

Just had to add some refinements. Found a tug and added deck hands.

Delighted that you’re liking it Jack. Thanks for pointing out that the RDC isn’t in the pack, thought it was but I must have done the RDC after the pack. Will put the link back and send to Chacal later today (5 am here, the cat woke me).
