You know, when I drove that yesterday, it reminded me that W.P. actually had black ballast back then when I got to Portola.
Back in the 70s SP track had grey ballast and the WP tracks through the East Bay had black ballast.
You did the right thing matching it to the existing trackwork though.
Unless they were supplied by a different quarry in the Feather River Canyon area. !*don-know!*

Santa Fe? No no no no, I think you were using Santa Fe cars as Cali-Zephyer cars? Say no more!

Where can i get those cars. So it looks like i can only use the cars that are there. This is fine just tell me where i can get the repaints for this route.
I make routes i do not do reskins. We all have our talents this is one i do not have. I just bought the Budd RDC GREAT NORTHERN from Train &Drivers. I will use it on my route until someone makes a Western Pacific reskin for it.

I have updated the track at Portola and changed the switch stands to the old type. Am i allowed to use Union Pacific equipment at Portola. I have seen Up equipment in videos.

You can use anything you want. This is a SIMULATOR not the real thing.

After discussing with a few people about my route.extension i have decided not to give it out right now. Friends and family have suggested that i take my time and finish it myself. So this is what i will do. Two people have asked for it i will pm them and tell them that i have changed my mind on releasing it right now. So hopefully by Summer i might be finished with it. It might take me five months to complete it and then everyone will have a complete project instead of a incomplete one. I will continue to post updates on it in this fourm.

Here is a video of my progress at Portola Yard. The video is a little blurry because I have to compress it to upload it on YouTube or it takes forever to upload.

Nice work David! I like the clutter and scenery details in your routes!
