The shore looks pretty sweet there. Remember this is a Train Sim not a rafting sim. My first time scenicing a route I spent way too much time on inconsequential stuff.

Then just hover over the existing track. Then get the elevation at the bottom of Google Earth screen. This is a big help when laying track.
