Hi all,

So this thought has crossed my mind...once I complete the line from Allentown to Oak Island, Croxton, and all points east. Should I extend the route out to Harrisburg? I was thinking of at least doing the Reading Line, or at least continuing the Reading line since I already have about 3-4 miles of it on my route. Any thoughts?

If you want to do Harrisburg what about doing it as a separate route and then merge later with the Lehigh Line?

How would I merge them? I would have to use the same starting point as my Lehigh Line route so they can be merged together, or do you suggest another way?

Honesty I don't know. But I know it can be done. Someone merged NJT Morristown Line with NY to NH somehow. I figured it could be done with your line too.

That's because those routes have the same starting point

I would like to say, great work so far. I really look forward to running this fun since it's fun with much variety. What I'd like to say is that routes can only be merged if they have the same starting point. Since the merger of the NYNH & NJCL/Morristown routes had the same starting point, which was New York Penn, they were able to be merged. The NEC: NY-Philly & NYNH could not be merged caused of the starting point otherwise one starting point like Philly would be in a very different spot. Hope this helps!

If I'm creating the routes to be merged together with the same starting point, why not continue from where i am. Essentially I am starting from the same starting point since it's my own route. I would just continue on from Allentown.

xxuntitledxx,

I was wandering around the forums and went to the very first page of your thread. January 2013? Holy Smokes man!
Then I saw "Allentown" then "Harrisburg" - its time for me to take a look at this monster!

Geez how big is this thing uncompressed - 5-600 mb?

Um...uncompressed?...882MB (as of last save) and I have only begun really working on scenery... there's a lot of empty space. I'm trying to figure out how to best work some buildings out...like the one below...
romerovski_Corp.jpg

Trying to see what would best represent it...working on the other buildings around it...I'm working from CP-Aldene (where the Raritan Valley Line meets the Lehigh Line) to Newark. After I complete the scenery going east I'm going to finish the remaining scenery between CP-Aldene and Port Reading Junction. Then go from PRJ - CP-53. And so on in like 10 or 15 mile increments.

I think Allentown-Reading/Harrisburg would have to be another route altogether...

As far as the time frame goes...since the start of this I've gotten married, moved, and you know...life has happened. So this has taken somewhat of a back burner. (Keeps me out of trouble in my free time.) I'm trying to get more done when I can now. But hey, any help in anyway would be appreciated. Even if it was ideas for scenery or ways to make things...easier?

There are a bunch of buildings like that in the RCAP bunch if I remember correctly. If you have the Lafayette route I used them at the Alcoa Plant in Lafayette.

I'm really starting to fall in love with this route as I've been railfanning along the Lehigh lately. If you need help on work with scenery, I'll do. Cause I love this route so much and wanna make something out of it for me and all.

So I figured I'd give you guys a taste of what I've been working on lately...

Here's Union with my interpretation of Kean University and the apartments by the station, plus the station itself. (still needs a lot of work but it's getting there).

Hey all,

A couple of things...no real update since I'm in the process of working on some more sections. I promise I'll post more pictures soon.

Anyway, thanks for all the great comments on the work thus far, it is much appreciated. :D

Second, I was thinking about getting ready to do the "route picture" for the route. So I was wondering, what is I guess you could say the most "Lehigh" section of the Lehigh Line that would encompass everything to do with the line. I want to try to feature all the railroads involved on the line (NS, CSX, Conrail, and NJT). Anyone have any suggestions?

'Til next time!
