First and foremost, it is the authors of the route choice to stick with it or not. Besides, why would anyone give away a freeware project when one can make money on it

We give away free routes because we love our hobbies. If they are good enough, kind people send you donations. I started with MSTS making 3 virtual railroads with repaints galore and activities by the hundreds, all for free. But the nice people sent me over $22,000 in donations since 2001. Thats how I can do all this for free. Thats what got my domains and web hosting services, the people helped me do it.

well i had a bad crash is why i couldn't hand it off, after that my grandmother got sick (she passed on Tue) and i decided i would give it a try and when i found out what was planned i decided it was the direction to go, its not so much vaporware as the platform just wasn't as stable as i would have liked and this opportunity came about simple as that

So very sorry to hear about your Grandmother, Jason. Do you think you will ever come back to RW? Maybe even continue the A-line?

I'm sorry for your loss. The whole point of the post which I believe everyone has missed is the fact that we are the artists that produce content for this simulation.
We the artists make the choice as to whether or not we choose to receive compensation for our work. It was not my intent to disparage your foray into capitalism.
I'm glad that you found a programmer with a stable platform to help you complete your work. I'll look forward to seeing updates on your progress in the payware
section of this forum.

This could be a lesson to future route builders. Show us what you have to offer, (free-ware or pay-ware) when you think your ready to release your hard work to the public, then do so.
Months and years of progress is meaningless if all your looking for is applause and pat's on the back. I and others have encouraged route builders all along their construction
only to see them turn into vaporware. I can count on one hand the freeware routes that have made it to the download files, with me actually running them and enjoying them.
I know its hard work, and I'm very far away from me producing one for all to run. Reading these forums shows me the complications of getting a route to the download files.
BUT some excellent route have made it without all the drama. In the MSTS days, a route appeared in the download files, you got it up and running, enjoyed it or not.
Now we get hype and coming soon screen shots for a year or more with the finished product all of a sudden not worthy for RW.
Enough excuses, Either share it or don't.
When a route is ready, you have alot of fans here intrested in what you have created.
Don't give up your efforts.
Thanks

And you all should get back to talking about Railworks. This is not a proper forum for discussing brand 'X' gents.

He's gone. He's making the A-line for Xbrand now. This thread is old, and it'll never be finished anyway. He had a bad crash. This thread hasn't been touched for a long while. Might as well lock it.

Agreed. I was thinking the same thing to lock this down.
