Donner Pass route

Unread postby CSX2057 » Thu Feb 07, 2013 12:06 pm

Ok,

So I sent an email to RSC a question about removing what files I needed before I upload to rwa and I got the repsond "Not an easy question to answer, If you want to create a Donner pass route yourself without using any of our assets the safest way would be to create it all yourself from beginning to end."

There has to be a way to remove a few files that requires Donner Pass payware, I don't wanna do anything stupid and get myself into trouble. Does anyone have an idea what I can do to give you guys a download for the Donner Pass BNSF/UP? There's a new station in Roseville and one of the guys on here is working on it for me while I make the arrangements for the station. Maybe Tracks to remove? Obviously you can't drive a train without a track. Its got to be a geopcdx or bin or something! !*hp*!

I think you are over thinking this. Your instructions for installation should be very similar to that of repaints.

... now that I am thinking about it. You can make a RWP which will update the current DP route. Have the user go offline, install your RWP, Clone the route, and go online again so Steam can revert your changes to the original DP route.

There may also be a simpler way, but I am thinking it through before I say anything.

Remember your RWP can only contain your models, BIN and XML files. You cannot distribute any of the GEO files from RSC.

There is PapaXpress,

I did a test by removing all tracks .bin and it disappeared. None of the trains are on that route atm till I can figure out what else needs to be done. Its working pretty good I was gonna remove this post but to late now lol.

I can repackage the route but they need the bin for the tracks otherwise the train won't run.

Read his post again. It's OK to leave the bin files in there just not the GeoPcDX files.

So the question is people download just models and they loaded straight to they're current clone route? or how does that work?
