Smm Level Crossing Modified Review

Unread postby hobotrain » Sun Dec 09, 2012 8:27 pm

Recently I was given the opportunity to test out the crossings originally from SMM which have been modified. I am really pleased with how they turned out and the better simulation to come from it. it has 2 modified crossings for every original, the 2 and medium activation and short activation. Both impressive in there own way medium activation is good for trains traveling at about 25mph-40mph, but not suited for trains going over 50mph as before the bars can go down or u can make the complete horn sequence your train is already through the crossing. The short activation is perfect for branch line operations also crossings near industrial sidings. I again really enjoy this and cant wait for it to come out to the public. I give it a 9 out of 10. !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! !!*ok*!! . just because it is always good to leave room for improvement.

if u have freeware you would like me to test or review pm me with the download link and a descript of route, model ,ect

as always hobo train

why did it get a 9 instead of a 10 out of 10, not picking but was there an issue or a particular dislike?

There is a particular issue... I can't get the 1a_SA and 10a_SA to syncronise because 1a_SA has arms and 10a_SA is just a tower. Unfortunately, I've got alot of crossings which use both so it sounds terrible when 10a_SA deactivates before 1a_SA !*hp*! I'll figure it out eventually. 7/10 at this stage from me.

like i said in the post it is not that i dislike stuff it is to give it room to improve like maybe some csx crossing styles and maybe in the future get it to read the speed of the trains and activate accordingly

I think they should have to arrows to place on the tracks either side of the road at a distance appropriate to the track speed limit... just like the prototype.

Are these updated crossings available yet?

Come on Buzz. The thread has been inactive for 1.5 months, there was no hint wheather or not it was a WIP. also, not everyone uploads to the RWA file library. b737lvr, mduran, all upload to megaupload.

Well if you have been following things and from your gadfly posting you appear to be following everything, you would know that if these get released they will be releases as RCAP assets and they all are to be released to the library.
!*cheers*!

I would suggest using the standard SMM crossing signals.
