that is the gradient tool You find in if you click the tracks on the top left flyout then you will see in the middle right it looks like a ramp almost. A straight line on the bottom with a line going up on an angle.

Just be careful around switches. It's always a good idea to place a single gradient arrow on either side of the one you wish to lift. Also be certain to make a backup of your route's Networks folder, as there is no undo when screwing with the gradient tool.

Be careful when adjusting gradient points. I can think of numerous occasions where clicking on one gradient point straightened the entire track ribbon from one end of my route to the other. **!!bang!!**
The word?..The word is no. I am, therefore, going anyway..

Not usually a good Idea but when that happens and because you cannot do an undo, If you press alt & tab, then on the task bar right click ts2012 and tell it to close window you can recover from it. as long as you did not save that is.

You need to use the gradient tool - you will find it at the right side of the row of linear object tools. One tip - the closer to the arrow you are, then the easier it is to get the exact height you need. Use your mouse to drag the arrow to the correct height. Joining a side track to an existing track is accomplished easily if both the section you are joining from and the section you are joining to are at the exact same height and all relevant sections are level. Don't forget to click on the Snap to Track option in the bottom left panel. Excess height arrows can be eliminated by highlighting them (they turn to red) and then clicking on the delete button.
