MCSA Route Update for TS2012

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Mon Oct 24, 2011 2:29 pm

Just when you think you published the "final version" of your route... a core update comes along that makes your route look like crap. !DUH!

So I re-re-revisited the Moscow Camden & San Augustine route and did some quick updates to it to bring up to the latest state of the art. I added some lights throughout the route, modified the track rule and added bumps, fixed some scenery issues, added the Big Horn time of day blueprints and built a new sky dome shape to enable these cool new cumulus cloud bands - the textures of which came from CGTextures.

Please see some screenshots of the end result below. And this time I won't say "final version". Who knows what RW4 might bring along. !*hp*!

I'll upload this new version soon. The IIR will receive a similar treatment too.

BTW, this update was only done on the 1920s MCSA route. I guess I should abandon the "modern" version, taking care of two almost identical routes seems like a bit of waste of time.

Cheers,
Michael

I was just driving this great route the past few evenings. I'm very excited to hear you are updating it! I used to live in these East Texas Piney woods, so it takes me back!

I'm wondering if you'll be updating the F7 reskin in the File Library as well. When I try to drive the F7 in Foote's scenarios, I can't see out of the cab view. Just weird graphics in the windows. I think this is probably a RW3 update bug as well. If there's a way I can fix it, or substitute the cab view from an F7 that works in RW3, let me know (and let me know how...I'm a total noob at this).

Thanks again for the update to this route. Really looking forward to trying it out!

Thanks, everybody!

The current 1.3 version (RW2) will still work (and stay in the file library) and it'll also run okay in RW3 mode, just a bit dark at night. *!lol!* But none of the old scenarios is set at night I think, so this shouldn't be an issue.

Cheers,
Michael
