Help with creating a route- blueprints

Unread postby Csxgp38-2 » Tue Oct 25, 2011 7:27 pm

I'm ready to make a prototype route, now how do I put the satellite images in game? I'm planning on making the rail line through my hometown of Apex, NC. Thanks to friendly CSX employees who I've gotten to know, I have access to track charts, etc, all I need is to put the basic imagery from google earth into RW3. Any help for a newbie at this?

RWdecal doesn't seem to work on my computer, are there any other ways?

Hi Harrison,

It should work... what is it doing wrong, and what kind of computer do you have?

Have you checked the support pages? http://www.rwdecal.co.uk/support/index.php

Thanks

I've tried doing exactly what they do in the tutorial but no decal or even markers show up. I'm on a brand new HP desktop, a custom Pavilion Elite with a Nvidia card of sorts and running Windows 7.

Make sure you've done all the preliminary stuff before trying to do decals and markers and terrain. Initial route setup, specifying the latitude and longitude origin for the route, setting up the proper folders. RWTools is your friend for all of that. Start by reading the manual in RWTools concerning setting up folders and beginning a route, then read a couple of tutorials or forum threads. Great tutorials on this at train-sim.com also.

Ah, thanks! I didn't even think of using RW tools for a route, I've only used it for reskins!
