Rich and all,

Thanks for the help. Rich, we had not, but have now uncompressed MTR_V11_wood_ties.rar and looks like we have gotten one step closer! We are now seeing switches, but still no track. Here's a screenshot.

Rich,

Forgot to mention, once we extracted, we also successfully ran the RW_RouteSetup.exe file.

Thanks!

Hi Mike and Dom, I'm guessing you installed Steam / Train Simulator XX into the default folder? If so, open Windows Explorer and navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks" within the railworks folder you should find a file called #-DELETE-PAK.BAT

Double click on the #-DELETE-PAK.BAT file and let it run, it should only take a few seconds. Railworks will then rebuild all the .PAK files and hopefully you should see all the track work in place?

If the batch file does not work, in the RAILWORKS folder, do a manual search for *.pak and manually delete them in the right hand window. Then start steam / train simulator and hopefully the track will be present.

Let us know if the above steps solve the problem?
Cheers,
Rich S.

One more thing to try if the above does not work, there should be a file named "MTR_V11_Assets.zip" as part of the route download.
Within that "MTR_V11_Assets.zip" file you should find a folder named "Richard Shirey".
Copy the entire folder named "Richard Shirey" to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Assets folder.
If you get a prompt to overwrite existing files, answer "YES".

Let me know if any of these suggestions solves the missing track issue?
Cheers,

Rich,

Thanks so much for the tips.

We have Steam/Train Simulator on a dedicated drive that we call our "S" drive. We tried both suggestions - successfully running the #-DELETE-PAK.BAT file in the Railworks folder. Once we did this, just to be sure, we manually searched the folder for *.pak and found several more, which we also deleted. Once we tried that, we opened the route and, unfortunately, still no track (other than the bridges). We then tried recopying the Richard Shirey folder from the MTR_V11_Assets.zip. It did ask us to overwrite, which we did. Unfortunately again, still no track.

We really appreciate all the help, but it seems like we're destined to fail at this one. Do you think we should maybe start all over again with the install as one last try?

Thanks,

Mike and Dom

I've just installed the route in my test environment which is a clean and empty TS2019 and at least the kuju trackwork at the route orgin (the yard in the north) is visible. Scale Rail, textures and some other stuff is missing because I haven't installed that on my test environment.

What I've done:

MTR_V11.rwp --> Installed via utilities
MTR_V11_Assets.zip --> Extracted in my railworks folder
MTR_V11_TemplateRoutes.zip --> Extracted to \Assets\RichardShirey\Development
MTR_V11_wood_ties.rar --> Extracted the Assets folder (it's in the railworks folder) in my railworks folder

If that doesn't help you maybe it's time to start Logmate.exe before you start TS and load the route. Maybe it will show us some usefull informations.
The output of Logmate is a file called "ts-DATE-TIME.log"
