Cut Tools

One of the problems I've had in the past with the cut tool is that I've always get unnatural looking cuts, usually they're too steep on either side of the track. Is there a diagram on how the cut tool cuts into the terrain? I would like a more shadow and more realistic slope when I cut the tracks out of the side of the mountains.

Thanks for your help! !!*ok*!!

That isn't steep to me. Cuts in my part of the country have nearly verticle sides. For this, I set my slopes to 50 or 60 degrees and Base Width (upper right) to 12-20 depending on situation. Then adjust a few tile corners individually as needed.

You can also use the SMOOTH tool to straighten things out especialy when you have all the points of the diamonds showing. I make a cut, then run smooth over it to take the edges off.
