Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad

Unread postby dleeboy » Wed Nov 02, 2016 2:33 am

This is my newest route I am working on. It is the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad. It is a Famous Narrow Gauge Scenic Railroad located from Chama New Mexico and goes to Antonito Colorado. The total length of the route is 64 miles long. And crossing 11 times between New Mexico and Colorado.

I played around with this route a while back but the route crashed and I lost it. So I have decided to try it again. The screen shots here are from Chama New Mexico. This is one day of work so far. This route will take me some time to complete. And I will not be able to put it in the workshop. I will have to upload it here at Railworks America. The reason is I need to use third party assets, and DTG does not allow that on the Workshop.

Looking REALLY good **!!bow!!**
The C&TS is my favourite of any RR anywhere in the world - just love it there and hope to get back there for about my 10th visit next year. Route is coming on very well - has a good fel in those newest screens. Are you planning on putting in the stockyards at the other end of the yard? Provides some more options for using Dicks NG stock cars. Where the tank cars are sitting, they have just reinstated the 1950's oil docks, which would add another option.

If you are looking for info, check out http://ngdiscussion.net/phorum/list.php?1 A great community and repository of knowledge, and there are guys that are very active there that photographed RG steam on the line back in the 60's.

!*cheers*! & *!!thnx!!*

I've ridden this train many times. Used to live in northern NM. This will be a nice addition. It goes through some scenic country and has a real old world feel to it.

Yes I do plan on putting in the stockyards and here are some screen shots. The other two shots are leaving Chama heading Northeast. I put in the Trestle just past Chama today. My Dem data is off it is ASTERGEDEM. I don't have Redem and you cannot get it anymore. So I am using Google Earth to check as I go to adjust the Terrain as I build the route. I have tried other Data out there this is the best that I am able to get. I don't like SRTM data too jagged. I like it more rounded than jagged.
