New Map Format

Unread postby harryadkins » Thu Jun 25, 2015 1:32 pm

I've discovered a nice freeware model layout design tool called SCARM (Simple Computer Aided Railway Modeler). It's fairly easy to use and gives a much better presentation than my previous efforts. I've attached an example using Bloomfield, VT, from Rick Foury's Central Vermont route. Bloomfield fits nicely on one page but larger areas will take multiple pages. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Would this format be useful to you in scenario planning?

Harry

That is nice! I have been using Visio for the few I have done so far. Will try this out.

Very interesting.
I always wished to have real maps of routes, not just trackwork but also scenery features like roads, rivers, etc.
