NA Miles posts

Unread postby ChuckF » Sat Mar 12, 2011 8:29 pm

Hi! I've made an observation about the placement of mile posts in NA route. My experience in western Canada, the Trans-canada rail lines are predominantly freight, so passenger traffic is secondary. My observation is that mile markers are placed on/at rr locations of infrastructure such as switches, bridges, road crossing, etc., not every mile. A mile marker at a road crossing could be 119.84. RW's markers do not accept decimal point so this method cannot be used. Is this something that should be requested so the NA freight routes can be made more realistic?

Hiya, I'm fairly certain that signs can be made to have a decimal. You just need to build your own sign.

Hiya Chuck, maybe that expression went over my head, but it can be created for free with Blender.

I think the expression meant, "it's not in my current capabilities to create such a sign"...

and to ChuckF, don't feel bad it's WAY over my head too...
