bridge height

How high, in feet, should a bridge be above the tracks. In the USA. *!question!* *!question!*

One reference from CSX calls for a 25' minimum. Sounds right, as a container is 10' 6" high. Two sitting in a well car would be 23' high.

It varies on routes, I think there was an incident where a stack train hit a bridge it was traveling under.

Hi! I didn't know the real answer for that, so I placed an autorack car on the track, and placed the bridge above it. May not be technically correct, but it looks okay. Cheers; Chuck F.
