We already have this level of sound realism (well, 95%) with Searchlight Simulations stuff in TS2017 :) They are already hard at work seeing what can/can't be modified in TSW.

Did DTG use krellnut's sounds for the rolling stock? It sounds awfully familiar.

I think that is a yes, but they altered them.

Remastered to be much softer with no perfect wheels. Obviously have no clue what American trains sound like. Krellnuts recordings are the most immersive addon ever done for Railworks and then they mucked it up after buying it to use.

Along with his scripting of the brakes in TS

At least they used his sounds at all. You only have to stand near a passing freight train *one time* to understand how important the sound is if you're going to create a simulation.

That's pretty sad someone had to dub real audio in over the game...
