with some info on a new US route: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/tra ... -june-2021

Haven't touched the game since I updated it to TSW2 and found no real difference.

I saw about a 10-11fps boost in performance on Sand Patch over TSW1. That's with all settings maxed out.

Latest Road Map update: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/tra ... -july-2021

New UE 4.26 engine, requiring all the assets to be compiled and cooked again?

Seems Preferred Partners have been found for creating UK and Germany content, and some of these did really good TS2021 rolling stock, like the BR232 and BR420.

No mention of a dedicated US partner AFAIK??

Do you guys now what version of UE 4 will be last?
UE 5 is around the corner.

Still no plans to release the editor !**conf**! for general public use.

Will see how SimRail guys plan for release SDK.

They discovered that console gamers were cash cows and decided to go a different route with Train Sim World.

Train Simulator games need another big player other than Dovetail. I hope to get back into train simulators one day when there's a true successor to Railworks/Train Simulator, because it certainly isn't TSW.

Probably a topic for another thread somewhere but I really hope Microsoft/Asobo get back into the train simulation world. Imagine the world they’ve created in Microsoft Flight Simulator as a base for a new train simulator…

What's wrong with TS2021?

It’s cranky, has flashes of brilliance, breaks down at times, can be real stubborn.......... oh is that me or the game.

At least you can be creative in TS2021.

TSW2 will never get a full editor for us mere mortals to use.

No free roam, free consist or schedule creation in the near future. Perhaps only a tool to create your own service layer.

UE presents too many constraints.

Would the game be driven forwards properly in the USA market if there were proper Preferred Partners actually from the USA?

Same gonna happen with SimRail?
It's based on Unity.

SimRail? What's that?

Would it really be impossible to create a free roam-able, expandable open world game/simulation with tracks and trains if you created your virtual world around it right from the start? UE and Unity are available in source code, to be used as the basis of your own game engine?

Derail Valley, Run8 and TS202 fulfill all my needs to 'play with trains'. Driving in Derail Valley in VR is fun, but those headsets are uncomfortable in warm weather.

Adding some sort of business model to TSW2 instead of hunting for treasure while trespassing on a live railroad? Konsole Kids versus the more 'simulator' type of player?

Totally agree, despite its problems and age.

What I see is the debt DTG owns to the investors, if they open editor, chunks of profit will be taken away by 3rd party devs and DTG will be left with less funds.
