Today, my game received a small update to build number 703. Probably in anticipation of the impeding release of the CalTrain MP15 locomotive DLC.

No change log yet.

Nobody here playing TSW anymore, let alone buying DLC to give that MP15 a thorough evaluation?

I have uninstalled TSW so I am certainly not buying any dlc, not interested until and if an editor is available to boost the interest value of the game.

Everybody is waiting for this editor to try and open the game for himself and see what he can do and what the game is capable of. First of all, create ones own trains and paths.

But from what I've read, the present Scenarios and Timetables are all scripted, there is no 'artificial dispatcher' logic. And without this, no free roam amidst AI will be possible.

This editor might be great for creating routes and putting assets in those routes.

Most players will be content with free roam and train and path creation.

I mentioned in the other thread my satisfaction with it. Steam reviews seem to be generally positive as well.

Really hope they can somehow incorporate free roam!

So far I'm satisfied with the MP15DC DLC. I've completed the training and a timetable run so far. Locomotive handles nicely, and has a good "feel" to it. Sounds are good. I don't believe they are the typical recycled non-turbo 16 cylinder 645 sounds. It sounded more like an SW1500, which would be more correct for this unit. But I could be wrong. There is the typical sluggish rev up / down with TSW, but I'm ok with it. Imaging looks spot on to me, at least what I remember of those units. DTG keeps getting better and better with each TSW release. Overall, it is a good add-on the Peninsula route. Glad to see it out. I wasn't expecting it.

I would love to see this locomotive ported over to Train Simulator. It would make a nice add-on to the TS2020 version of the route. I would also like to see a 50' gondola added to the TSW work train scenarios. During the major route rebuilding, the gondolas were used to haul dirty dirt (old roadbed), used ties, new ballast, walkway rock, an excavator or a car topper (a backhoe that mounted on top of the gondola, and could crawl along the top). Also a 60' flat (no bulkheads) for hauling around new concrete ties would nice.

I have purchased every piece of US / North American content at it's release. I for one, enjoy this simulator platform and I highly enjoy the CN GP-9rm! The MP15 is great as well! I am looking forward to the editor release ….so that this community can get their "talent" involved! The one thing though....that I highly believe, is that if we do not support it, it will not come to blossom. Just my "2 cents".

I have been burned out on TSW for quite a while. The empty streets, the lack of active background, awful "realistic" sounds. Every two months or so I play a bit only to realize why I don't. If they made an attempt to fix heavy haul and all the older DLC It would renew my interest. To me, most of the game looks a bit washed out, almost like there is a fog or mist to intentionally obscure the background.

Yeah right. Support them by purchasing DLC that reuses horns from the original Trainz release. After 2 years of being released, it’s pretty obvious DTG doesn’t care about releasing an editor.

There doesn't seem to be much improvement going on. North Trans Pennine is still hands down the best DLC in the game, second place being Ruhr Sieg Nord. Peninsula Corridor was almost a step back. The reused SW1500 sounds from TS1 aren't exactly something to be proud of.

Oakville has some bad flops too. Sounds from the GP9, same bell from CSX Heavy Haul and the horn is from the default Kuju SD40-2.

Audio-wise, I can't see this game improving. The sky still looks really awkward in early morning (clear) and cloudy. Not nearly as bad as the initial release, but still something to consider.

This is exactly how I find myself relating to TSW. Every two months or so I forget how poorly some things have been implemented or just plain left out, play for 5 minutes and then give it a rest for another two months.

The only thing that can save TSW for me would be a full blown route editor and the involvement of 3rd party creators. I truly hope that an editor will someday be released or, for me, the entire enterprise will seem like a wasted opportunity for DTG... and that would be a shame.
