This is your chance to give DTG some directions as to how to further develop the TSW franchise.
https://dovetailgames.us17.list-manage. ... 7b78b14901The questions asked already give some insight in the short/mid term future of TSW:
no real change from the present gaming modes,
no multiplayer,
no proper internal dispatching screen nor external dispatcher,
no dedicated controller support,
no real incentive to turn TSW into a true rail transport simulation.

The survey was a little janky with a couple questions, but I answered it as best I could. For new routes I chose Tehachapi Pass, the LA to San Diego Surfliner and the Kansas route. As for user suggested routes... I said MRL's Mullan Pass. The thing I noticed most about these route suggestions was their TS2019-level lengths. The TSW route lengths up to now have been fairly short. That's promising
The fact that the deluxe edition includes all the routes for $30, gives you a pretty good idea of where they are sales numbers-wise with TSW. It does however in effect replicate the Traim Simulator model of getting multiple routes included in the price of the base sim..... which is a good thing for the consumer. My problem is that beyond CSX Heavy Haul and the Northeast corridor, I have no interest in the other routes currently offered.
I am glad they are at least asking us for their input and I hope it leads to fruitful things.

I think the franchise isn't doing very well commercially on all platforms.
Brand new game and DLC already offered at 50% off is an indication the product doesn't sell at full price.
SteamCharts aren't improving either, there is a small peak the first week after a new DLC has been released, then it quickly ebbs off.
So perhaps this survey will help improve in making the game more commercially viable, by helping DTG to bring to market what customers really want from TSW.
Of course, the editor. Complicated no doubt, it can turn things around for DTG.
Will we be able to uncook the supplied routes?

I completed the survey this morning.
I was disappointed again that there were no new ideas for U.S. routes (other than the same old saw...boring) . Why do we never see offerings of Midwest or Eastern routes?
Chicago, Buffalo, Virginia, Georgia, The great Iron Ore roads, etc..
Sigh...
Here's hoping.

It's because the western railroads have a bigger following and have much better public relations. Nobody knows the hidden gems of american railroad history on the east coast except for the few of us that live there. You can't make what you simply don't know about.
I have a few opinions on giant railroads and the repetitiveness in american routes that have been done so far (moreso in TS than TSW, but TSW is also relatively new with little content out yet) but I'm also not here to start a war on this forum...

Regarding USA DLC, we can only wait the editors to come and start helping ourself to what ever we like to make.
Conditions are not as same as they were ten years ago, the UE4 community is vast than ours, we can expect much help now.

This would have been a great time for me to give DTG some helpful, constructive feedback instead of critical insults. Patience, politeness and gratitude are a virtue I will continue to work diligently on daily!
