TSW won't start with the error message coming up server unreachable. This is the same issue here, someone had for the game Lords OF the Fallen in 2014 https://steamcommunity.com/app/265300/d ... 258/?ctp=3. I have been in contact with DTG for over a week with no resolution. I do think that this is a Steam issue. TS2017 works with no problems. Have tried all the usual things right down to shutting down firewalls and disabling anti virus programs to doing a safe boot of windows with all services shut down except a internet connection, but still the same problem. Have posted on Steams help forum about a week a go and have had no reply from Steam.

Since you didn't mention it, I'll ask whether you've performed a game files verification. Since TSW is more or less equivalent to a single route in TS, this takes very little time. You also might try launching TSW from its EXE file directly.

Is there a possibility that your AV or browser is blocking http://trainsimworld.com? What browser are you using?

Ok I shall try and list what I have done. Done the verify cache, reinstalled both TSW and Steam, removed my AVs etc, booted computer in safe mode with all services shut down except my internet connection, tried starting TSW in offline mode but, message popped up saying I had to go online which I did and got the same message server unreachable. Suggestion on Steam to delete all files in the Steam folder except the SteamApps folder and the Steam exe file and restart Steam. I have 56hrs playing TSW and haven't been able to use it since the last update. Been in contact with DTG support. Their last suggestion was to make an exception in my router for the game but, my ISP supplied NetCommWireless router does not have that feature. Have posted this on Steams support forum about a week a go and haven't heard anything from Steam. Other Steam games play including TS2017. I have another router which I may try later on today and see if that resolves the issue, which I don't think so. In the Steam link on my first post someone suggested to change your country on Steam which I did but that didn't work either. I even asked DTG to contact Steam for me on my behalf but, they said they cannot do that for Steam customers.

What browser are you using?

MS Edge mainly but sometimes IE11. Have tried another router with no joy.

Open IE and go to settings, go to security and check if your security level is set to Medium-high. Just checking for loose ends.

Yep set to medium high.

Did ask Steam for a refund with the knowledge that they only refund if you haven't played longer than 2hrs explaining my issue but they denied it. Have now asked for a refund through Paypal explaining the issue again, but not very hopeful of getting one.

I would try this. There are files located in other folders. System Drive (usually C:)/users/your name/Documents/My Games/TS2Prototype. Remove this folder to your desktop and download and reinstall TSW again. This folder has configuration files. After your installation is complete try running TSW again. At this point you will loose your game progress. If it runs, replace the files within the saved folder one at a time and try, if no improvement replace the entire TS2Protoype folder to its original place this will bring you back to where you were.

I have been searching on this. Have you tried to run the executable for TWS to run as administrator?
It seems that most issues are from AV programs but I see that you removed/paused it without success.

Tried running as administrator, still no go.

Have you made sure that in your AV and any malware etc software that TSW is allowed? (recent upgrade to Bitdefender 2017 for me [using original settings]) and suddenly no exe file would work - getting an obtuse error about permissions. I had to exclude the relevant folders/files and hack the registry to get exe files to work!
Tried with UAC OFF?
Set up new user account in Windows - may help!
Have you tried a clean boot in windows and then tried?
Does it load in safe mode?
Any details in the Windows Event log or the Reliability History?
I guess that you have reset the modem/router?
