DTGs reply.
Not a chance for either of those two scenarios to happen, remember that this is early days and there is a lot planned and in development for Train Sim World.

CSX Heavy Haul is just the beginning, the future's bright.

I think first off they are going to do a UK and German route to satisfy the UK and German customers, who are probably going to be their biggest customers of TSW if TS2017 is anything to go by.

Hopefully, after the editor is released they will also add more US routes. The Sand Patch is getting old!

Is this true? I always thought the US market was the largest one. Not sure why I thought that. Do you have some numbers? I would like to know where the market is and don't know where to look..

Some one can ask me....
:)

UK route... I'd put my house on it.

There is a clue on someone's screen in the first video released.

German route... we've done the research trips.

More US routes.... I'd remortgage my house and put it on it.

:)

Biggest market... depends on the time of year, but it is very close between the 3, we all love trains.

a route near my house you say... that's a good idea! :)

Anyway, yes tools and editors...

While the tools and editors will be different to TS1 it has always been in our plans to get them to users because it is a hobby which is multi layered and not a game you play once then discard.

Back in the day... at Kuju and Rail Simulator I'd say more time was spent on tools than key elements of the game, hence why they are so usable and lasted so long and why we had other gameplay issues early on.
How it works in UE4 is so very different regarding builds and cooks.

However, like all good things... they will come in time.

Derek

Last time you said that it took nearly 10 years to build and wound up featuring half of england... so i predict that this time it will take 20 and feature the whole of england lol...

Maybe he'll go a different way, and it will only take 5 yrs and cover only 1/4 of England!

Anyway, thanks for the continued helpful info from the horse's mouth, as it were.

This I do not know.
Once we know the delivery method and the extent of the first release of tools (and the road map for future updates) we will have a better idea.
Once I know more and I am able to, I will share what I can.
