After the recent update of Steam and my program of TS2017 not working

I am not sure what is happening with my program of Train Simulator 17 after the update of Steam. I am not sure what is the update from Steam for? Anyway after login my USERID and password and clicked the icon to startup the program of Train Simulator 2017 and got black screen on the monitor. I let the program running for a few minutes to see if I could get out of black screen then get into simulation but after a long wait with black screen from the game and decided to hit the button to shut down the desktop. So what is the solution to solve this problem? Then I could get into simulation after startup the desktop. I am not sure what is the latest update of Steam that I got and believe others got the same as I got for this week.

We are on version 58.8a and if you tried to start the game from the game list on Steam and it didn't start I suggest trying to start it by going into the railworks folder and try to start it using the RailWorks application icon. If it won't start from there then run the file verification in Steam.

Thank you Buzz for your suggestion to file verification in Steam. I have to recover 3,247 files acquired after failed to validate. Wow that's a lot of files are missing. Anyway good news with this and the program of TS2017 is working now. Next time I will remember if that happen again and will run the file verification in Steam.
