New TS2017 Pioneers Edition (for Existing Users)

I strongly encourage you all to check this out if you haven't already done so. Even if you're not into European routes, or have several or all of these routes, this is great value and allows you to expand your horizons on the cheap, while accessing the TSW Beta for free in December . . . .

The deal is only available for a limited time (not sure how long that means!)

There are five routes, each available at a 75% discount. You only pay for those that you don't already own, out of the five - North Jersey Coast Line, Hamburg-Lubeck, Semmeringbahn, LGV Marseille-Avignon, South Wales Coastal. In US pricing terms that's $10 per route ($5 for Semmeringbahn), Maximum $45 if you own NONE of them, ZERO cost if you own all of them.

If you own all five of those routes (or buy the un-owned ones as part of the Pioneer package to complete the set), then the TSW Beta of CSX Heavy Haul will be available for free when available (expected December)

Chris

There's been a pretty full discussion of this in two other threads.

I, at least, won't be buying it.

Nor I: the three routes I do not own are predominantly passenger-based and trying to comply with a nearly impossible schedule just doesn't interest me. As for the 12-day beta, I'm more interested in train simulation than exaggerated weather effects and gliding around in an engine's cab. Guess I'm just not a pioneer.

If they threw in one more US route I might be interested, but I hate to buy European routes that I will never have interest in. I think I can wait 2 months after the short Beta for the actual release **!!2cents!!**

I might bite, not for the beta, but for having a cache of routes for the leaner days to come.
I've tried a few european routes and liked them. The TGV is especially interesting.
I might buy them, and then uninstall all european routes in the Steam client to save some space.

IMHO I'm not going for the beta. Knowing DTG I knew that people who receive the beta will still have to get the full TSW package when it officially goes for sale on steam. Although the offer is very tempting for me since it has 'CSX AC4400CW on the Sand Patch Grade' written all over it.

"The deal is only available for a limited time (not sure how long that means!)"

From what the infographic they released I think Pioneers edition will be around until November 30. "Players that own TS 2017: Pioneers Edition before November 30th are eligible for beta access".

From that I think it'll be around for a while.

Looking at it, I own two routes in the package, so I may reconsider purchasing it, ive got no real interest in the beta other than maybe testing my 1070 with it. But, I do want to try the Swiss route and the price of pioneers is lower than it by itself. I may get it afterall.

I do not understand how it works. I only have the NJCL, am I really going to pay $45 for the whole package?

That's pretty much what this is all about. Getting the routes for a discounted price along with the 2017 update. The TSW beta offer is just a kicker to the deal. Something nice for us. Your not just paying to be a beta tester.

I only had the NJCL and paid $38 for the Pioneers Edition. If you aren't seeing the reduced price on the TS2017 store page, go to the store page for the NJCL and you should see an option to complete your collection.

You are looking for the Buy Train Simulator 2017: Pioneers Edition (Existing Players) BUNDLE option ;). Alternately, click on this: http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/999/

I doubt they'd put it on sale, but possibly.

You think there will be better than a 75% discount across a bundle?

Ha, i payed for TS2015 Steam Edition when it was 85% off for $5.99! Three routes and 2 locos; I had NY-NH, Acela, and the ICE-T already at the time.
